Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Corus Hotel

Founded in the mid-nineteenth century, Kuala Lumpur – or KL as it's known to residents and visitors alike – has never had a coherent style, a situation only aggravated by the fact that the city has changed almost beyond recognition over the last thirty years. The first grand buildings around Merdeka Square, dating from the 1890s, were eccentric mishmashes themselves, the result of British engineers and architects fusing, or perhaps confusing, influences from around the empire and the world – Moghul, Malay, Moorish and Victorian. Today, those colonial buildings that remain are overshadowed by towering modern buildings – most notably the Petronas Towers – that wouldn't be out of place in Hong Kong or New York, reflecting the fact that this, the youngest of Southeast Asia's capitals, is also the most economically successful after Singapore. A sociable and safe place, KL has a real buzz to it, with good nightlife and enough interesting monuments to keep visitors busy for a few days at least. The ethnic and cultural mix of Malays, Chinese and Indians makes itself felt throughout: in conversations on the street, in the sheer variety of food for sale and in the profusion of mosques, Buddhist temples and Hindu shrines.
A stay of a few days is enough to appreciate the best of KL's attractions, including the colonial core around Merdeka Square and the adjacent enclaves of Chinatown and Little India, plus, to the east, the restaurants, shops and nightlife of the so-called 'Golden Triangle', the modern sector of downtown KL. It can be equally rewarding just strolling and taking in KL's street life, in particular its boisterous markets, ranging from fish and produce markets stuffed into alleyways, to stalls selling cooked food of every shape and description, or inexpensive clothes and accessories.
Business travelers will greatly appreciate the location of the Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur. It is only steps from the Petronas Twin Towers and in the very heart of the KLCC (city center). It is also near the convention center and the major shopping areas including Bukit Bintang, the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and the Chow Kit market. A trip to Chinatown is easily accomplished on foot and many of the historic sites are within close proximity too.
The Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur is located along Jalan Ampang, and is 28.7 miles from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
The 378 rooms in the Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur come outfitted with high-speed Internet access, full-sized desks, personal safes, designer toiletries, cable TV, climate controls, minibars and beverage stations, full bathrooms and wake up services.
The Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur is a business-class hotel with many services and facilities geared towards such travelers. These include airport shuttles, secretarial and business services, meeting and conference rooms, concierge and tour desks, valet parking, a fitness center and swimming pool, in-house restaurant and lounge, and much more.

Flight passengers may soon be able to check in from their smart phones

If there is one travel gadget that has become a must-have for the frequent flier it is the smartphone, an indispensable piece of technology that can keep travelers connected like a laptop but is as mobile as a cell phone. A new proposal from travel startup WorldMate could make smartphones even more useful for the avid excursionist by embedding travel services into the phone itself.
The Palo Alto-based company claims to be in contact with major manufacturers like Samsung, Nokia and Motorola as well as mobile operating-system providers like Apple, Google and Microsoft to create cell phones geared towards travelers.
Not merely content to create applications for the phone, WorldMate is hoping to redesign existing hardware to create a more intuitive device capable of everything from remote check-in at the airport to last minute ticket purchases.
The company's chief financial officer Nadav Gur claims that his company has the broadest international customer base of any online travel agency, meaning a partnership with a cell phone provider could result in the earliest and most thorough entrance into the travel embedded cell phone market.

How To Get The Right Cruise Ship

Are you wanting to take a luxury cruise this year? Going on a luxurious luxury cruise trip is probably the most awesome journeys that a man or women can embark upon. If you are single, have a family, or that someone special, you ought to consider heading on a vacation on the ocean. Below are a few items to contemplate when looking for the perfect luxury cruise.
Right after the location is chosen, the most crucial judgements to be made is how to select a cruise ship. With nearly 200 ships within over 21 important cruiselines that might seem like a complicated job to start with, but you'll find it easier than anyone would imagine.
Be sure to select a cruise line which complements your character plus your anticipations for your getaway. Are you taking a family vacation? The Disney cruise ships, not surprisingly, are based around the entire family and kids, but Royal Caribbean also has a great track record of ships which are children friendly and possess excellent teen packages. If you're looking for a cruiseship for the perfect honeymoon, Princess is associated with romance, while Windstar or Regent Seven Seas are outfitted for expensive and private intimate moments.
Make your mind up whether or not you are most focused on time invested at the vacation spot, or in exactly how you intend to take the time on the ship by itself. All but the smallest cruiseships normally provide such amenities as spas, gyms, expos or entertainment and a number of dining options. Travelers which are more keen on the getaway itself will discover that Carnival is famous for offering some of the best shoreline adventures, although lines showcasing smaller luxury cruise ships might visit amazing smaller ports that are unavailable to the large boats
In contrast, if you are more interested in your time and effort on the vessel, perhaps you should look at Norwegian, which features cruiseships recognized for their suites along with their wining and dining. Norwegian is also much more informal than other cruise ships, and sometimes avoids the assigned eating periods. Should you be getting excited about an excellent dining experience, Oceania is famous for wonderful specialty restaurants, while Celebrity is well-known for healthful and alternative dining choices. Yet if extravagance is the objective, Crystal Cruises provide a number of the greatest luxury ships and excellent cusine to be encountered at sea, or check out Costa Cruises' Concordia for an incredible spa experience.
Of course, for most people, the cost is definitely an important factor. Cruise ships are often divided into three fundamental categories - budget, premium, or high class. On-board services as well as land activities may play a role in price, but probably the most important differentiation in the categories is definitely the staff-to-customer ratio. If tailored services and needing someone at your side constantly is essential for you, choose a high end cruise ship.
Cruise lines are available in an array of dimensions, despite the fact that capacity is probably not the most important problem. Cruise West and SeaDream Yachts offer some of the most compact boats, under 100 voyagers. Smaller boats will give you an even more customized experience, and their size enables them to visit smaller and less frequented ports. As a down side, smaller ships aren't able to provide the luxurious night-life of more robust cruises. If you are prone to getting sea sick, a larger vessel is unquestionably the better option. The bigger the vessel, the less noticeable the rolling motion of travelling at sea.
In summary, Irrespective of exactly where you decide to go, or even exactly what cruiseline you voyage upon, for those who have completed your research, this will most likely be one of the most astounding vacation trips you have ever taken.

Pacific American Samoa -Lonely Planet Vacations

American Samoa is a vastly underrated tropical destination that will delight you with its magnificent mountain ridges, wonderfully peaceful bays, soporific villages, and some of the world's most remote, uncluttered and utterly beautiful reefs and beaches. Once you land on the main island, Tutuila, it takes very little effort to look beyond the imported Americana of its main settlement, Pago Pago, to the shadows cast by the spectacular peaks crowding around the deepwater harbour, the forest-lined roads switchbacking over isolated mountain passes, and palm-shaded beaches that paradoxically empty the mind but fill the imagination. The locals also help you to acclimatise to this relaxing habitat by encouraging you to sing along to their favourite tunes on the crowded island buses, welcoming you repeatedly in the streets, and spinning out traditional stories on long, humid evenings.

Setting foot on one of the virtually untouched strips of sand in the outlying Manu'a Islands will further seduce your senses. Few experiences compare to the feeling you get when you emerge from the superb, coral-filled waters off Ofu Beach and look up to see nothing but turquoise waters, sea birds crisscrossing the faces of enormous cliffs, and the hulking silhouette of Ta'u way off in the oceanic distance. Hardly anything disturbs the peace and quiet here except for the occasional barking dog and passing pick-up truck - otherwise, there's only the movement of wind and water to ruffle the calm.
Whether you're a hiker keen on checking out some of the highest sea cliffs in the world on Ta'u, a history buff wanting to see your first star mound, or a leisure-seeker with a deep appreciation of beach life, you'll be glad you visited this unsung paradise.
